WHat is Rock camp for girls+?

Rock Camp for Girls+ is a weekend-long camp where girls, femmes, non-binary, two-spirit and gender non-conforming folk aged 13-18 learn an instrument, form a band and perform a song at a music showcase in front of family and friends!

Campers have the opportunity to learn the guitar, bass, drums or keyboards. Musical experience and instruments are not needed to participate in Rock Camp for Girls+!

Who runs Rock Camp for Girls+?

Rock Camp for Girls+ is run by Girls+ Rock Ottawa, a grassroots organization made up of volunteer female musicians and music lovers who work to create a world where girls, women, femmes, non-binary, two-spirit and gender non-conforming folk are empowered, confident, and welcomed in the music scene, whether it be as musicians, promoters, engineers, etc. Through teaching, mentorship and positive examples, we hope to encourage the next generation of young leaders to take their place and make some noise within the music industry.
