Anybody can write a song. Hard to believe? We know. But with the right tools you too can set your inner songbird free! Girls+Rock Ottawa presents Songwriting 101, a workshop designed for beginner/intermediate artists, musicians, and storytellers seeking to challenge their perspective of songwriting in an open and collaborative environment.

The Songwriting 101 Workshop will provide you with an overview of: Beginner music theory and composition, developing a creative process, the relationship between personal well-being and songwriting, maintaining and sustaining your songwriting skills, the importance of collaboration and more!

Receive a Songwriting Toolkit that includes: Steps that outline how to start, finish, and demo a song, songwriting challenges and exercises, tips for co-writing and a guide to ‘song splits’, and recommended resources.

Registration required. Open to everyone ages 13 and up.
